Full-Depth Sediment Retention Barrier for Mine Water Treatment Pond

Mackworth-Enviro designed and fabricated a full-depth sediment retention barrier for a mine water treatment settling pond in Northern California as part of a remediation program for Jacobs Engineering. 

This application represents another use of Mackworth’s Bottom Sealed Filter Barrier (BSFB) technology, adapted to span the full water column to the sediment interface. The barrier creates internal control within the pond to limit fine sediment transport, promote effective settling under variable flow conditions, and accommodate soft sediments and long-term exposure in a challenging treatment environment.
